sunset at Yeouido Park

I just have to start with this wonderful news! I'm so so happy, my good friend got engaged in this week!! : ) Congratulations!! Such wonderful news.. Oh, how fast the time is passing!

Ogromne gratulacje! Naprawdę bardzo się cieszę: ) Czas mija nieubłaganie!

I'm so exhausted after this week~~ I've been missing this blog!
So let's begin : )

To zacznijmy! : )

Cultural differences, is an important topic to understand more about our neighbours and Asian friends. Lately I'm sharing my experiences in Korea. Although I've been there not for a very long time, but it was enough to see at least some differences.
I've been interested in Asia for many years, and I think I'm more aware of the culture and it's differences. At least not all of them are surprising me much.
Hehe, this topic definitely needs another extra note: ) But today I'm starting it, because I want to share a tiny, and in my opinion a very nice video - Korean lady's point of view of Poland (video is in English with Polish subtitles).
And for understanding one situation in the video: name - Kim, means in Polish "who" (when asking who are You, or in question with who).
So Polish question: "Kim jesteś?" (Who are You?), lady's answer "Jestem Kim" (I'm Kim) sounds like asking "I am who?"; )

And I recommend to watch few more:
Polecam jeszcze obejrzenie kilku innych: )

Indeed, I agree, I was surprised, that in Korea cars are not stopping to let You go (maybe just except two situations that I had, and even in one of them the driver was an American man). I was thinking 'Oh, I'm pedestrian!, why aren't You stopping hehe'. So better be careful, I'm not saying they drive like crazy, but there is no habit for letting go pedestrians as in West countries. Of course not all Polish drivers do that, and not in every situation hehe.. but it is much more common. The behaviour while eating is also true, Koreans, and not just Koreans, in Japan loudly eating - for example a ramen soup - is also the normal way. And talking is quite loud too. For me it was not and is not a problem at all. In restaurants it can be very loud, but I'd rather say it is so lively: ) Even if it is 1am, many people still stay in restaurants and cafeterias enjoying their time talking. But this is why I said, for me Korea is a country full of life, so basically this is a part of the country, making it exactly that way it is.
And from the Polish side, well the 'disco polo' music.. neither I like it hehe. But it's just one type of Polish music (I think mostly it was popular much time ago). And there are many other types of polish songs, and You can find really good ones too.
The lovely lady mentioned about Polish people sometimes calling parents by name, hm.. well I myself never been or seen such situation, rather just 'mom' or 'dad'. However I also think that relations in families in Poland are more close (of course it is a generalization, and there will always be some not like that).

Kim przypomniała mi o jednej sytuacji w Korei.

And what are Your opinions? How do You see Korea and other Asian countries? Same I would ask what do You think about Poland?
If there is any topic or any issue that You would like to discuss, don't hesitate. And then we will try to figure it out.
From my experience, indeed not everyone know Poland. Usually if I saw someone doesn't know much about Poland, I said it is a neighbour of Germany, and the location became much more clear. And really many people are interested, asking more questions. Indeed some Asians, my friends, recognize Chopin, Wałęsa, Wajda.. or history, politics problems, too. And some foreigners know more, what had surprised me. And also, because I've been asked about that a lot of times. In Poland people speak Polish, English is not our main language. I think now children start learning English since primary school.

Ok : )
Last time we stopped inside the bus!
Ok : ) No to wracamy: ) Ostatnio zatrzymaliśmy się w autobusie hehe.
'Yeouido'

..

But why Yeouido? : )
There are those few movies, that You like to watch again.. and again: ) To me one of them is a Korean movie: "Castaway on the Moon". Shortly, it is a movie about a man who wants to suicide by jumping from the bridge to river. However instead of that.. he got stuck onto island at Han River... precisely in the centre of Seoul, a city with more than 10 million population.. Wanting to lose the life? Or changing direction into wanting to survive? For this and more answers, I recommend watching the movie: ) My favourite moments with the telephone^^ (a trailer below):

Yeouido [polskie czytanie: Jojdo]. No właśnie.
Mr Darcy z 'Dumy i Uprzedzenia';) albo Jack Sparrow z 'Piratów z Karaibów' hehe. Dla mnie jednym z takich filmów jest koreański 'Castaway on the Moon'.

Some time after arriving in Seoul, the question: 'oh, but where is the island?' appeared: ) The island was discovered: ) However in the end not the Island caught my heart, but the amazing view and park.

The first words, when we stopped at the top of the stairs, when I just saw the view: 'oh.. wow'..
Yeouido Park is located by the Han River, the main river in Seoul. For better orientation, have a look at this map (enlarge and look close by the centre, by the river, around station 'Yeouido'):

I love this place: ) I collected all the photos, that I have from Yeouido. I've been there few times, at different time in a day. Hehe, not enough: )
People are coming there for meetings, relax, fun, eating, talking, doing sports: like riding bicycles, jogging. Or just sitting on the grass and looking at the sky hehehe, admiring the view and the city: ) And some of the people were wearing work uniforms, and meeting in bigger groups.
Before going down by the stais, there were few men advertising food delivery, giving leaflets. You can order, and they will bring for You a meal in the lovely park.
And as I remember correctly there is also a possibility of taking boat cruise on Han River.

Bardzo, bardzo lubię to miejsce. Zebrałam wszystkie zdjęcia jakie tam zrobiłam. W sumie byłam kilka razy, i o różnej porze dnia.
the 63 building, used to be tallest one, but no more
There is one thing I didn't like in Korea, which was also in one small store in Yeouido Park. Bugs! I know... I know about the proteins hehe, but even though hehe, I really don't like bugs. Hehehe, when I was passing that store, I already smelt the bugs (it's really specific smell). They sell it cooked or fried (I'm not pretty sure what kind method exactly they use hehe) from some kind of container. But when seeing that, my face changed and the seller smiled and quietly laughed hehe, so did I: ) If You are wondering.. no I don't have a photo haha.

: )
one more time the gold skyscraper
sun is going down
: )
the 'island' : )
if I'm not wrong the place behind is a restaurant, and is shining in different colours at night
there are also fountains.. to play with: D
great fun and amazing view on Seoul
I think I don't need to comment : )
the 'Twin Towers'
I wanted to try riding a bicycle along the river. There were few places to rent it, and we did that. You rent for a specified period of time, and You get a locker for some stuff too. My bicycle was an 'Europen older style' hehehe, so cool: )
view from bicycle trip on the 63 Tower, from the opposite side
time to go back
I heard so many nice words about the blog, Thank You very much!
